I’m always a fan of historical fiction. This book captivated me towards the end that I didn’t sleep but four hours last night. There were twists and turns I didn’t anticipate, and a few events that I sadly predicted. Sad because the events themselves were sad. I didn’t leave this read without a few tears too I must say. A definite read!
It is two days until I’m back at work on my full-time schedule. I’ve truly enjoyed my time home with the girls. I think I would like to have more flexibility in my schedule such as a part time job, or I would even consider becoming a stay-at-home-mom, something I didn’t think I would ever be willing to do before. I’m not envious of those that get to do that, but I’m regretful that I didn’t take better care of our finances this past decade so that it could even be a possibility. That being said, God has provided well for us despite my over-spending sins. I’m eternally grateful for all the gifts He continues to provide.
Today, I was blog reading and enjoyed looking at Thrifty Decor Chick‘s post for the 1st. She supposedly posts befores and afters on the first Monday of every month. She’s new to my reader, so I’m curious to see what is in store for me as I continue with my “new found friend.” This was perfect timing as I’m ready to make some changes in the house this year. One source of contention is our shower. Blech . . . I now understand that the mold and mildew issue is something out of my hands! Supposedly the previous owner caulked the bathroom to cover up previous mold issues. Since then, they’ve been seeping through that layer to what we can see today. So, one of my goals this winter is to re-grout the shower. I’ve watched many you tube videos. It really doesn’t look all that hard. I think the hardest part will be getting off and cleaning what is already there. Wish me luck as I try this new adventure. I’m hoping to have a beautifully clean shower by this summer. So, in the spirit of befores and afters, I’m posting the button provided by Thrifty Decor Chick for you all to click and enjoy yourself. 🙂
So I have many plans on making 2012 a much better year than 2011. Of course, all resolutions are the most lofty of goals, but it is always great to re-evaluate, re-adjust, and renew. I truly feel the key to making most of my goals centers around organization and more energy! I’ve begun a household binder that will stop the useless time wasted trying to find everything – especially since there isn’t any room to have a home office or even a “home” surface. The energy? Well, I can only attribute a difference through diet and exercise. Here’s hoping in two weeks (after I detox from all the lovely, yet toxic foods) I’ll be a sane person who has more energy. I’ll keep you posted! 🙂
I hope your New Years’ Day was what you wanted. I had an unusual day, but it has ended with another fabulous meal made by James – corned beef brisket, sauerkraut, collared greens, corn bread muffins and black-eyed peas, of course. Here’s to you!
